Enjoyed on-tap at the source on 11/30/10
A - Pours a pretty solid black with a creamy ivory head that fades to a thick ring.
S - Dark roasted malt, coffee, toasted oats and yeast.
T - Again, mostly dark malt flavors with a bit of coffee and chocolate. I'm again detecting the same banana flavors I was picking up in their Scottish Ale. Not sure what it is, reminds me of flavors in a Dunkelweizen, like dark roasted banana. Perhaps I'm just really sensitive to certain esters given off by the yeast, I dunno. Whatever it is, it's not my favorite flavor in a Stout, and really hurts the beer for me.
M - Creamy, with a medium body and lower carbonation.
D - Not my favorite. Glad I tried something darker, but I wouldn't have it again.
