One of the 2oz samples I got at Ruddy Duck.
A: The body is a cloudy dark copper, and I can't fairly judge the head, because of the serving size, but 10.6% dictates it wasn't anything too special.
S: Decent spiciness dominated overall. There was cinnamon, nutmeg, and maybe a little allspice. Nice.
T: While I'm not a spiced beer fan, this seemed like it was well constructed overall. The cinnamon and nutmeg were very palpable, but the malt base held its own. There was a warming alcohol finish like you'd expect, and it was even a bit hot going down, but it didn't oppress the rest of the beer.
M: Nicely creamy (without being sticky) with high carbonation. The finish was a little too bitter for my tastes.
O: It's a good beer, but it needs some work overall. With a few tweaks here and there, it would go from being good to great, but it's still well worth a try if you like spiced beers. Get it while you can!
