Had at the Ruddy Duck, obviously.
Looks very deep amber/red, as the name suggests. Smells very faint, pretty mild. Tastes similar: slightly malty but no strong flavor profile that hooks you in. Feels pretty light as well.
Overall this is good and I did enjoy it, but this hammerhead could have a stronger bite.

Enjoyed on tap at the Ruddy Duck. Served in a standard pint glass.
A - clear medium/deep amber appearance. Moderate head of tiny bubbles disappears quickly. Leaves minor lacing at most. Looks the part mostly.
S - very slight nose on this amber. Some malt comes thru along with the characteristic metallic tang most middle of the road ambers have.
T - malt up front, but mild, followed by slight tang and finishes with a minor hoppy bite that also fades quickly. If you have had Killian's or most any average American amber you've had this one too.
M - very light overall. Doesn't add or subtract much to this equation on this brew.
O - the more I try to find an amber I enjoy (besides the truly amazing Tröegs NN) the more I realize it's becoming an exercise in futility. They are so often one dimensional and lack luster, and sadly this offering is both. Would love to see the Duck start to push the envelope and cease making beers to appeal to the BMC crowd. I think they could do it, but this particular brew doesn't begin to pave that road.
