On tap at the Ruddy Duck into a standard pint glass.

A - moderate dense head that lingers ok. Extremely cloudy, almost smoothy appearance. Very dense looking.

S - mild wheat aroma with an equally mild raspberry juice aroma. Not a strong nose at all, but seems par for the course for the Duck brews.

T - much better than the nose. Dense, almost textural wheat presence. Raspberry doesn't come through until the back end of the sip. It's more present than the nose but still second fiddle to the Imperial Wit base that this beer is obviously derived from. The alcohol, which is substantial for this style, is noticeable but manageable.

M - heavy. I enjoy wit biers, this one is a bit too heavy on the palate. A smoother mouthfeel would carry the mild raspberry better and not conflict as much.

O - I don't have much experience with imperial wits at all, much less of the raspberry kind, but I don't think the Wit style lends itself to an imperial treatment. This particular brew is dense to the point of being abrasive at times. Heavy carbonation only adds to the assault on your tongue. The raspberry flavor is there but definitely takes a backseat to the imperial wit base. That's not a bad thing, just a comment. Not a bad brew to try, but certainly not sessionable due to the high ABV and likely not one I'll seek out too often.
