I used to be leery of Belgian style beers since quite frankly many of them just don't suit my tastes. This one doesn't fall into that category. The bartender told me that as the beer has aged the "edge" from the Belgian yeast has smoothed out a bit and he was correct. The beer is a nice hazy yellow with a very long lasting head and great lacing. The smell is certainly dominated by the Belgian yeast but the malt backbone come through and the taste is malt dominated. The mouthfeel is quite rich and the carbonation very good. If every farmhouse style was this well crafted I would probably drink them more. I understand this may be a limited release so I am glad I got to sample it.
