On-tap at Santa Barbara Brewing Company, Santa Barbara, CA
A: The beer is clear very dark red in color (black when viewed from afar) and has a moderate amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a short tan head that died down, leaving a collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of nutty malts and raisins are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell and has flavors of nutty malts and raisins along with some notes of chocolate malts.
M: It feels medium-bodied and a little thin on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is interesting for a nut brown ale as it isn't overly nutty and has some fruity and chocolatey flavors.
Serving type: on-tap

Served on-draught into a pilsner glass at Santa Barbara Brewing Co. Reviewed from notes.
A: Pours a one finger head of lovely cream lacing, great thickness, and good retention. Colour is a dark ruby-black (NOT brown, surprisingly).
Sm: Toffee, chocolate, cream, and light caramel. A mild strength aroma, and one not typical of brown ales. I expected nuts, but found none.
T: Surprisingly little nuts for a nutty beer. Caramel, light toasted malts, and very light hints of chocolate. Built a bit simple, but effectively for what they're trying to do. Balanced and pleasant.
Mf: Smooth and wet, suiting the flavours generally.
Dr: It's not to style, but it's still a pleasant little beer. The quality never rises above average, but I found it enjoyable and drinkable in a general sense. I doubt I'd get it again.

A: Hazy amber-brown body with small head.
S: Not much here. Some malts present, a bit grainy.
T: Like the smell, not a whole lot going on. Some spices fall atop the malt flavor. Small hints of chocolate. Not the usual overall I'd hope for in a nut brown.
M: A bit too creamy/thick for what I'd prefer in the style. Perhaps this is the hazy/particled appearance affecting how I think it feels.
D: I think the abv was 7%. The alcohol was noticeable, but not too much. Just didn't prefer the drink itself overall.

Appearance- A solid brown color, little to no head. very light carbonation.
Aroma- Almonds, perhaps roasted almond.not much else comes to mind, was pretty bland.
Taste- Taste was better than the nose lead me to believe. nice light sweet malt notes, little bit of nuttyness. low alpha hop used(or so it seems)
Mouthfeel- Very drinkable light 2 medium body brown.

Out of all the beers we tried on this given day(been here numerous times) my dad liked the brown best and it was marginal.
Poured like a watery leather color with a small dirty white head. Light caramel malts, some hops and some earthy tones I noticed as wel. Slightly sweet but not the best I have had.

Draught at the brewpub. Hazy dark brown with a nice creamy head. Malty caramel aroma with some earthy hops. Malty and nutty with some wood, sweetness, caramel, and light hops. Medium body with medium carbonation. Smooth and pleasant overall, with nice maltiness.
