Pours a clear copper colour, with a nice white head. Soft aromas of malt, hops, citrus and slight caramel and toffee. Mild tasting, moderately hopped, good malt character. A very safe beer. A good session ale. Very drinkable. Light bodied. Nothing too outstanding.

Dark bronze looks, with a very nice thin, clinging cream top. Light nose, malts and hops mixture.

Taste was good, and refreshing after my disappointing saison. Thick, lightly-toasty grains layered behind a potent sweet hop base, which had an almost minty feel to it. The hop bitterness develops as it warms. Great gradiation of hops in the mouth to the solid dryness in the after.

However, like the saison, I found this way too sweet, almost artificial. Drinkable, though, and standard. Almost like an IPA.

11/12/04- Sampled at the Toronado in San Francisco, CA

Appearance- Pours a medium reddish amber color with minimal head and a tad of lacing.

Smell- Not too much scent. The hops and malt are there but don't come out in extreme fashion. Maybe a touch of caramel.

Taste- My taster is a bit off because I am just getting over a cold/flu, but I had my friend taste it too to get a proper rating.
Fairly mild pale ale. A nice mixture of malt and piney floral hops. Has a kind of funky aftertaste though. Reminds one of a Sierra Nevada.

Mouthfeel- Very nice carbonation level as it was pretty smooth.

Drinkability- Will have to try this one again sometime and re-rate when I am feeling up to par. I thought it was a pretty decent pale ale though. At least worth giving another go at it.
