Tap at 3 Brewers Heartland
Solid dark brown/black with a frothy creamy white head that persists forever. Rich coffee and chocolate notes with hints of caramel and dark pitted fruit. Pretty solid stout!

Part of a sampler of 6 beers. This one was probably the best of the lot, but that's essentially because the rest of what was on offer was fairly weak-kneed. By comparison this brew was most distinct and flavourful. Up against a proper stout, though, this goes by as pretty unremarkable.

Beer of the Month for March 2012
I tried this beer on draight on March 2, 2012 at "The 3 Brewers" in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. This was the most uninspired stout I have had in a long time. The waitress said it was in the style of a Guinness, and that should have been my cue as I'm not a fan of Guinness. It poured a dark brown with black edges, and a creamy brown head. Aroma was weak roast with some coffee and chocolate in the background. Mouthfeel was weak to medium bodied with medium carbonation. The flavour was weak roast, weak coffee, and weak chocolate. So, not offensive...but not memorable.

A dry Irish stout, creamed up by nitro. Black with lasting creamy head. Mildly roasted aroma. Fresh on tap, rather nitro, today at Toronto brewpub.New nitro tap, this was on regular tap two years' back for St Paddy Day. Middling serviceable stout, neither too sweet nor bitter.

The last brew I tried at this brewpub, and by FAR the best of the bunch.
Poured a pitch black (although the bar was dark, in all fairness) with a thick, solid, immovable head. Nose is coffee, smoke/roast and molasses. Matching flavours of smoke, dark sugars and caramel come through strongly, and are complimented by the hint of anise. Body is rich and smooth with a soft carbonation. Excellent flavour balance and oh so drinkable. Very well done
