20oz draught.
6.0% ABV.
Special Beer of the Month for January 2012.

I tried this beer on draught on January 27, 2012 at "The 3 Brewers" in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The beer poured a golden orange colour with a thick light tan head. Not even close to the copper colour mentioned on the menu (although the accompanying menu picture was close to what was in my stein). The aroma was grains and citrusy hops. The mouthfeel was medium bodied with medium carbonation. The flavour was grainy malt, citrisy hops, and anise. Eventually the taste was the same as the smell of shoe polish.

January seasonal at the Toronto location. Hoppy aromas come through the malt. Half an inch of retained head on copper body. Average mouthfeel, this has a large quantity of malts, I am guessing 50 IBU of nondescript citrus hops. Decent drinkability, but a pint was enough. This is called a pale ale as it has understated hoppiness compared to the standard of an American IPA, but the staff clearly told me it has been sold in previous years as the Indian Pale Ale, it is just a name change.
