Lunch with the akorsak pack at the midpoint of our two week vacation. Nothing like a Saturday that doesn't involve packing up and hitting the road for home!
Corolla Brew Pub used to be a Weeping Radish outpost; I recall visiting many years ago. It is no longer affiliated with WR, however it continues to stock good beer.
Atmosphere: The pub has a long L-shaped bar and approximately 10 tables. We arrived after lunch on a Saturday to a busy place that slowly cleared out. The bar is adorned with breweriana. A chalkboard, always a nice touch, advertises the beer and wine lists.
Quality: The place has come miles from where ti was a few years back - a greasy spoon where the tables were always sticky. Now the restaurant has a proper pub feel. A wise move that works.
Service: Only two people were running the entire front-of-house, slowing things down a bit, but not by much. Food was served hot and beers were served cold.
Selection: The state of North Carolina was well-represented on tap, with Mother Earth, Weeping Radish, Duck-Rabbit, and Carolina Brewery holding down the 9 taps. A wide selection of bottles, including Brooklyn, Fat Tire, and Bell's Two Hearted are also available. For the less beer-inclined, a decent wine list and full bar are available. I went with the Carolina Flagship IPA and Mother Earth Dark Cloud; ksak with the Mother Earth Weeping Willow Wit and Duck-Rabbit Milk Stout.
Food: Good pub grub. My chicken fingers (you are never too old for chicken fingers) went well with the beer. A variety of sandwiches, including vegetarian items were available.

Stopped by on a Wednesday night and quickly discovered that this was just a small beer bar. Frankly, I was worried what sort of beer I'd find at a strip-mall, tourist town brewery, so seeing a long and respectable beer list was a welcome surprise.
The place is small, with about a dozen tables and then a bar wrapping around two sides. The waiters were friendly and prompt, and despite the large amount of families with small children getting dinner, my friends and I had a nice enough time.
I ordered the Carolina Flagship IPA on draft for $5 and most of my friends bottles (Highland Oatmeal Porter and Fat Tire) were under $4.
If you're looking for a few craft beers, check this place out. They've got about 6 local beers and a good variety of American craft.
