Copenhagen 5/12 2016. 50 cl bottle from Meny, Østerfælled Torv, Kbh. Ø. The Danish King Christian the Fourth on the label - apparently a big fan of Christmas Mumme.

Pours opaque dark brown with a small beige head. Stable. Settles as a thin fine layer of foam. No lacing.

Aroma is intensely sweet. Fermented sweet berries, leather and alcohol. Reminds me of a Dessert Wine. Something tart lurking in the background.

Soft carbonation and thick oily palate. Viscous, almost flat textured.

Flavor is heavy sweet with a medium strong bitterness. Bitter licorice in the aftertaste. You cannot accuse this beer of being without taste.

Very Heavy and very Sweet - but also quite good Mumme.

From Boxbeers. In Teku glass. Playing Bloo Kid 2. I didnt known of the style (mumme) but this christmas version has too much anise that hiddes everything, making it taste even like a medicine, although the nose is nice and peculiar. Should find a non-winter version of the style
