Copenhagen 29/8 2016. 50 cl bottle from Meny, Østerfælled Torv, Kbh. Ø. Battling long horned goats on the label.
Pours hazy amber with an off-white head. Settles as a thin layer of foam.
Aroma is sweet and malty with some honey and caramel. Some lingering alcohol odors hanging around.
Medium strong carbonation and oily palate. Lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is sweet but followed and overpowered by a heavy and harsh bitterness. Quite boozy on top of that. Lingering bitter aftertaste.
Would go quite well with a marinated herring - but has a hard time on its own.

500ml bottle. Pokal glass. Enjoyed on sep´12. Ruby in color headed by beige crown. Fairly good retention. Strong chocolate, figs, candies & coffee notes both in flavors & aromas. Gentle mild toasted caramel malt upfront followed by underlying bitterness. Strong licorice & dates. Full body. Soft carbonation. Oily to watery texture. Slightly bitter cocoa finish. Hints of coffee & licorice extract on the aftertaste. Subtle involving alcoholic touch. Well balanced flavors & aromas. Delicious beer!!

Bottle: Poured a clear light amber color bock with a medium foamy head with OK retention. Aroma of light caramelized malt is OK though lacking esters. Taste is a simple mix of medium caramelized malt with not much else in terms of noticeable characteristics. Body is slightly below average with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. No brewing flaws but lacking interesting fruity esters I usually associate to the style – this kind of confirm my theory that this is a very difficult style to brew.
