A tribute to the course of nature – where spring replaces the long and arduous winter. Where the sheep have lambs – and the lambs frolic in the green meadow. The beer is a bock beer. It is brewed with Munich malt – this helps give it its sweetness and caramel flavor. It is really good with, yes, lamb – pig and veal, but also for the big cold table.

Copenhagen 5/7 2017. 75 cl bottle from Meny. Sheep with the heads of Erdogan, Trump and Putin jumping around with their lesser known cousins on the label.

Pours hay red tinged maroon with thick off-white head. Settles as 3 cm thick layer of dense foam. A lot of lacing.

Aroma is fairly sweet with some strong tart fruity notes. Caramel and sour berries. Some moldy basement notes from the yeast as well. Despite being rather rich and intense the aroma can not completely hide the ABV.

Soft carbonation and medium thick palate.

Flavor is medium sweet followed by medium tart bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter. Lingering.

Maybe a bit to heavy to be a Spring Beer. But then again it should fit the Danish Spring weather just fine.
