Nissens Krans from Hornbeer is a Christmas beer with a distinct Belgian character, brewed with classic abbey yeast, which gives the beer a complex and fruity flavor profile. Here you will be met by notes of dark fruits, spices and a light sweetness that harmonize beautifully with a slight alcoholic warmth.
This full-bodied and deep ale is made for the dark months and goes particularly well with hearty dishes such as duck, roast pork or mature cheeses. It also works great as a cozy beer that you can enjoy in front of the fireplace – with or without a Santa hat.
Hornbeer is known for their creative approach and high quality, and Nissens Krans is no exception – a tasty Christmas classic in Belgian disguise.

Copenhagen 24/3 2026. 33 cl bottle from Best of Beers web-shop. A little Christmas Elf standing in front of a round Christmas Cookie showing his bum on the label.
Pours opaque murky dark mahogany with mid-sized off-white head. Stable. Settles as a thin patchy layer of foam stretching to cover the surface of the beer. Clinging to the sides of the glass. Substantial lacing.
Aroma is fairly intense with a sweet odor of malts and dark fruits mingling with sour grains and a little alcohol. Plums and raisins. Toffee. Brown sugar. Sourish notes of grains.
Light carbonation. Medium thick, oily, a bit viscous and rather flat texture.
Flavor is medium intense with a medium strong sweetness followed by a stronger sourish bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter and a bit tart. Finish is dry.
A tart and unforgiving Christmas greeting.
