Copenhagen 7/10 2016. 50 cl bottle from Meny, Østerfælled Torv, Kbh. Ø. Happy Monk on stilts on the label.
Pours hazy amber with a small white head. Stable. Settles as thin patches of foam unable of covering the surface of the beer. Moderate lacing.
Aroma is intensely sugary sweet with raisins, cookies, Belgian yeast, butterscotch and alcohol.
Light carbonation and surprisingly thin palate. Almost flat texture.
Flavor is very much on the sweet side. Close to being too much. Almost no bitterness. Sugary aftertaste.
I would not fancy the life of a Monk if I had to quench my taste in beer as sugary as this. But then again I would be plastered so quickly that I would hardly notice it.

500ml bottle. Wine glass. Enjoyed on agt´12. Brown in color headed by tan froth. Crown quickly dissipates while leaving a lasting thin layer on top. Aromas of leather, acid, Brett & toasted malts, plum hues. Toasted & caramel malt flavors are touched by acidic/fruity notes. Citric hops, subtle molasses & brown sugar are shown too. Light body. Moderate to high carbonation. Oily to watery texture. Very well masked ABV. Interesting beer!!

Bottle: Poured a clear dark brown color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of candi sugar with light dry fruits notes. Taste is also a mix between some dry fruits notes with some amount of residual sugar. Body is a bit light with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Not bad but really lacking some body and some complexity and/or some interesting ester.
