An Imperial Ale that’s beautifully balanced with fresh hops, rye, and a subtle malt sweetness. This high gravity ale is golden in color and brewed with hops sourced from the Pacific Northwest. Ideal for that winter trip to the cabin and drinking by the fire… Winter’s cold-blooded warmer.

A nice amber color, with some maltiness and toasted nuts. Nicely balanced hops. Body is just about right.

A - Deep hazy copper
S - Roasted malts, floral, little spice
T - Same as the nose but less complex.
M - Lightly carbonated, medium/light bodied
O - It's perfectly drinkable, I'll finish my sixer and drink another, but probably not going to seek out.

12 ounce bottle into tulip glass; no bottle dating, but is a recent release. Pours slightly hazy golden amber/light orange color with a 1-2 finger dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass. A bit syrupy looking on the pour, with slowly cascading head formation. Aromas of tangerine, grapefruit, pineapple, peach, apricot, honey, rye, lightly toasted biscuit, and floral/grassy earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of citrus/fruity hops and moderate bready/rye malt sweetness; with solid strength. Taste of big tangerine, grapefruit, pineapple, peach, apricot, light pepper/pine, honey, rye, lightly toasted biscuit, and floral/grassy earthiness. Light pine/grassy/spicy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of tangerine, grapefruit, pineapple, peach, apricot, light pepper/pine, honey, rye, lightly toasted biscuit, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity hops and moderate bready/rye malt sweetness; with a nice malt/bitterness balance, and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Slightly drying from lingering bitterness, lightly increasing through the glass. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; with a very smooth, creamy/bready/grainy, and slightly sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden, zero warming after the finish for 8.5%. Overall this is a very good hoppy rye golden ale. All around good complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity hops and moderate bready/rye malt sweetness; very smooth and easy to drink for the ABV. Nicely juicy on hop flavors; balanced malt sweetness without being cloying. A very enjoyable offering.

Boy the ratings of this are rather low but I already paid 2 bucks for the single so here we go!

A - Looking like the base is an old ale type of beer very syrupy deep orange amber color with some small floaties in the glass and a 1/2 inch of head that actually sticks around for a bit.
S - Got a bit of a cold so I may not be the best person to judge this but I get a lot of honey sweetness a touch of faint citrus hops and some woody aroma's
T - Very woody and bitter not in a hoppy way more herbal. Can't put my finger on it but its definitely not like other winter warmers with spices of cinnamon or nutmeg. Had to look it up some describe it as wheat but it may be the rye used.
M - Best part of the beer for 8.5% it drinks so smooth and the bitterness isn't too distracting.

Overall not sure if I would get it again but its definitely different from the typical winter beer.
