Sampled on 1/23/09, reviewed from notes, color is a very dark brown but not quite black, thin and creamy 1/2 inch tan head that leaves no lacing and does not last long, aroma is oatmeal, grains, mild tart, roasted malt, and coffee, have to really get in there to smell much of anything, flavor is full of oats, roastiness in the middle, and hint of dryness in the finish, mild coffee comes out later on, not complex at all and does not change much from start to finish, mouthfeel is dry, roasted, and chewy at times, medium to full bodied, soft carbonation, could not drink much more than the half pint or so that I had of this, not very smooth and too one dimensional, would skip this next time, might be worth trying
