This porter brewed with six shots of espresso per ten gallon batch proved to be the most admirable and charismatic of the three featured at The One Horse Tavern on my first visit. One Horse has bottled its coffee porter in 22-oz. bombers for in-house or off-sale consumption. It is pure black, undercarbonated, and sports an odd milk bucket smell that I questioned at first, though later came to accept as non-problematic. Perhaps the smell was ambient to the glass or the room and not the beer.
The flavor is well targeted with a relatively mild coffee presence that accents the roasted malt elements without overpowering them. It could have used a greater showing of lather, but was otherwise a drinkable ale of some distinction - one I wouldn't mind revisiting.
