The Citra IPA has a medium to high hop flavour and reflects an American hop character with citrusy, floral, and fruity aspects. The malt backbone supports the strong hop character and provides balance. The malt flavour is clean and malty sweet with some caramel and toasty flavours.

On tap at the Rhino, into a pint glass.
Filtered orange, with a nice white cap. Solid lacing, and fairly good retention. Nose has some light Citra character, a little bit of tangerine/orange and general citrus. Light sweet malt character. Not too bold, but gentle and pleasant. More tropical fruit, orange and grapefruit in terms of flavour. Mild bitterness, and some fairly decent malt sweetness. Medium, but smooth mouthfeel. Med-low bitterness. A pretty simple IPA (more a pale ale I'd think), with some good flavour but it could easily be turned up quite a bit.

On tap @ Bar Hop.
A - Mediums orange with a small layer of white head. Some very good lacing.
S - Some tropical fruit, citrus and touch of caramel. The nose is inviting but not as pungent as I expected.
T - Grapefruit and some tropical fruit are present up front with a good bitterness. The malt backbone provides some balance and caramel flavours.
M - Light to medium body with moderate carbonation.
O - Enjoyable but this needs some work. The citra hops didn't shine like they should have in this one.

On tap at the Brewer’s Backyard event, aka The Constitutional Draught. Mild citra aroma. Honey coloured body with a wispy white head. The citra is somewhat overpowering and a bit astringent, needs to be tamed. Prickly carbonation, and a bit overcarbonated. Drinkability can be improved.
