A - Dark brown, but still permitting some light through, with a moderate, creamy light tan head that fades to rockiness quickly, then largely disappears. Lacing is present, but not extensive.
S - Malt - caramel and a touch of roast, coming through primarily as toasted bread.
T - Opens a very pleasant sweet malt flavor, with caramel from the nose being central. The middle comes across slightly more acidic, but still quick malt-forward. The close has just the slightest bitter bite, a smidge of acidity, clearing away the residual sweetness for the next drink.
M - Very thin, but not unexpectedly so, with a slight hint of creaminess, and some acidity that clears things off.
O - The main characteristic for a beer with this ABV and profile is easy drinkability. But that does not make this beer boring. It has a nice malt profile, with just the hint of bitterness in the close to keep the primary sweetness from getting to be burdensome. I drank a couple glasses from my growler, and truly enjoyed the experience with no real buzz hit. For me, that is a mark of a good session beer.
