i didnt really imagine that i would like this one, but ordered it out of curiosity, on tap at freshcraft downtown. its modeled on the cocktail of course, with salt and lime, and is definitely the first sour i have had or even heard of from sun king. seems more of a front end souring than a wild beer to me though, nothing native or even bretty in here at all that i really gather, instead its a piquant bacterial thing that reminds me of a lot of kettle sours, tangy but cleanish, a little citric, even white winey, not at all as complex as most wilds get, but reserved to some extent and appropriate with what else is going on here, and i truthfully know nothing about how this was made, its all observation. the lime is fresh and zesty, honest but fairly heavily dosed, while the salt is more moderate to me. seem wheat based, but is light and a little thin, perhaps the bacterial acidity breaks down the body a little bit. refreshing to a degree, because its not too sour and the fresh lime makes it seem summery. this is far better than expected, and ambitious beer for a brewery who has largely underwhelmed me to date, but this is very good. the high carbonation is awesome and the sourness is right on.
