The Eighteenth Sun is an Imperial Wheat IPA brewed in collaboration with 18th Street Brewery in celebration of Indiana’s Bicentennial year and the Sun King CANvitational. The 18th Sun features a bouquet of Crystal, Cascade, and Mosaic hops for a bold citrusy flavor and Indiana wheat for body and balance.

Pours a slightly cloudy golden orange color with a two finger off white head.
Aroma is dominated by grapefruit, dankness, and floral. Also get lesser amounts of grass, pine, and very slight pineapple. There's a nice sugary sweetness and a slight breadiness from the malt.
Taste follows the nose. Grapefruit juice and pith and floral pop up front and moves on to a dry grapefruit peel, pine resin, and spicy bitterness. A sugary sweetness, wheat, and slight breadiness are just there to provide a backup to the hops.
Medium body. Smoothly carbonated, slightly creamy from the wheat. Oily and slightly sticky finish.
A really good beer from two really good breweries. Definitely west coast style with the dry, bitter finish. Packed full of hops, but still balanced.
