Poured into a snifter. A clear copper-ruby color with a modest tan head. The aroma was muted, producing only faint raspberry and cherry, along with a slight lemony tartness. This was fairly tart with much more fruit on the palate. The raspberries popped with the tart background. I also tasted lemons and blueberries. Not much funk or other notes, and this one seemed one-dimensional. Medium bodied and crisp.

Pours an unattractive brown with purple hints. Very little head. Aroma- brown sugar, funk, raspberry, cherry. Taste- raspberry, and a little green. Fairly bitter for the style. Sour. More brown sugar. Mouthfeel is very tingly. Overall- pretty good. But a few flavors that are a little off.

S: big berry funky nose. Berry dominates. A trace of barnyard and moist dark cake are in the background.
L: Cherry brown with a slight haze. Moderate cream to light tan cap that has poor retention.
T: Raspberry is the headliner supporting by lemon and medium levels of malt. Finishes with lingering tart raspberry flavors.
F; Medium body and medium carbonation.
O: As a flanders Oud Bruin, this lacks the rich malt character but it has just enough of the malt character to keep the raspberries from coming across like an alco-pop and the make the reapberries shine.
