12 oz can, best by 11/6/21, into THAT! NE IPA snifter.
Hazy gold with a finger of white fuzzy head that recedes to a thick ring leaving sparse lacing. Head retention is good.
Aroma of heavy toasted coconut, and to a lesser extent there is mango and pineapple, some creamed corn, and mild grass.
Mango and lychee come out swinging in this one, followed by pineapple juice and lingering notes of coconut shreds. The base beer is still the star in this one, and manages to keep all these flavors under its thumb quite swimmingly, which also keeps this beer from being too sweet or adjuncty. (The base incorporates a good mixture of flaked corn, grassy hops, and crisp pilsner malt)
Very carbonated as it should be, with mild dryness and slight spiciness towards the finish. Slight starchiness. No alcohol heat.
Overall, another impressive effort from Sun King and pays homage to their Sunlight lineup. I may be this series' biggest cheerleader, but I'll stand firm. They do good work in general and the "Sunlight" series of cream ales is a wonderful example.
