Qualifying: I’ve never heard of German style IPA, which certainly doesn’t imply it’s not a thing I should know about. My son brought a Crowley back from a recent trip to Indy having liked it when he had a pint at the brewery.
L: medium amber not much of a head and not much lacing
S: I realize in retrospect that I cannot assess this beer through the American IPA lens. Maybe a little floral, biscuit, overall pleasant fragrance
T: see qualifying statement above. A slightly sweet front end with malty middle, clean slightly bitter finish. If I remove “IPA” from consideration I’d say it’s a very flavorful, drinkable beer
F: medium bodied, decent carbonation
O: see qualifying statement above. A very drinkable beer although if you’re an IPA person and expect an American style IPA it will miss the mark. Overall I enjoyed it

This is a Hallertau hopped German IPA. Pours gold with a thin head. I didn’t detect much of a nose. I was expecting a nice hop flavor but there really isn’t anything. That being said it was not bad to drink but I have no idea what they were going for with this beer.
