The Indiana Replicale is an ongoing project by the Brewers of Indiana Guild and headed by Sun King's own Dave Colt.
Every brewery in the state is invited to participate and brew a singular recipe, thus allowing each brewery to showcase their own unique style and character. This particular Replicale is a recreation of the first commercially produced Indiana beer, which dates back to 1838. It was originally crafted by the New Harmonist, founders of New Harmony, Indiana on the banks of the Wabash River.

A lovely gift from Lukafer....
A- Poured a burnt brown color. One finger off white head that showed medium retention. Light sheety lacing on the side of the glass as I was drinking.
S- Roasted malts and light nutty aroma is the base of the aroma. Light alcohol in the tail end.
T- Upfront flavor is mostly a nutty with a hint of roasted grain. More of a roasted flavor toward the middle. The tail end of this beer is interesting with the roasted flavor kind of turning into a watered down lager. Alcohol was not overpowering but there on the backend.
M- Light medium mouthfeel. Carbonation was a little lacking but still worked for the beer. Roasted nut flavor left on the palate. Light roasted malts with some alcohol in the aftertaste. Alcohol not very drying on the palate. Flavors were good and well balanced.
D- This was a great beer I thought. I was glad I could try this one out. Sun King really does a great job with their beers. They are making a fantastic name for themselves.

>>>
poured from a growler a rich dark brown with a frothy, finger sized off white head with a fair amount of retention.
aroma is rich, deep and roasty, nutty with a hint of dark brown sugars.
nutty taste upon the first sip, a hint of cocoa and hazelnuts.
very smooth and creamy, no hint of bitterness - moderately sweet.
very drinkable, the growler won't last the night.
