According to the brewery Fistful of Haze is an “Experimental IPA brewed with citrusy mandarina, azacca, and trident hops.” It pours straw yellow with white head. The mandarina hops provide a pleasant fruitiness and tangerine flavor that I rather like. Unfortunately there is also a dank and rancid hop flavor going on at the same time that I find quite unpleasant. It is light and refreshing, but there is also a hollowness to the flavor profile. Tastes like tangerine, bubble gum, dank weed, light malt grains, subtle ethanol sweetness. I see what they were going for, an easy drinking IPA. And they kind of achieved that goal, but in the final analysis it simply doesn’t taste very good (at least to my palate). It’s like someone poured a crappy kolsch in my generic IPA.
