Revised for 2015 release.
A - Pale yellow gold, mostly clear, but with a haze, and a white head that breaks down to a thin white top, lacing present but not elaborate.
S - Quiet grain notes, bread, and strong yeast hits of banana and spices, primarily allspice and cloves. A bit of muted minerality.
T - Bright fruit, primarily bananas, couples with a strong bread and dough flavor. The spices pair well with the fruit notes, and the close brings the minerality, primarily reminding me of limestone.
M - Bright, strong carbonation, moderate to light feel, easy close.
O - I had this once before last year, and this 2015 batch is superior in every way. The fruit pops, the sweetness and feel is in balance, and the taste delivers on the promise of a Hefe. A very good, solid beer.

Had on tap at Ale Emporium
Poured a nice golden with little head but looks great. I love the color on this beer. Smell was your typical hefe with cloves and banana. Taste was a bit off for me. I'm not a big fan of anise and that is all I could seem to get from this beer. Good mouthfeel and carbonation. Really easy to drink. Overall this was just an average beer that I really was not that impressed by. Hopefully they'll get some of their beers that are actually good out into the market and not just at festivals.

Cloudy, golden color. Maybe some slight orange hues. Great looking rocky white head. Lots of fine bubbles supporting the head. Great retention and sheets of lace.
Nice banana, yeasty notes up front. A hint of bubble gum, and a short glimpse of clove. Slight herbal and earthy hop finish.
Good tart, wheat feel up front. Just a bit of sweetness. Slight citrus zest flavor. Some banana and bubble gum notes. Clove is very minimal. Slight earthy finish.
Lighter body, carbonation is not as lively as I would hope, but not bad. Very easy to drink. A pretty decent version.

Appearance - This is a nice, cloudy yellow with a full, lingering.
Smell - The wheat is light and pleasant here with a hint of lemony citrus, strong banana, and rich bubble gum. This is the first American Hefe I've smelled that actually smells like a German Hefeweizen.
Taste - The flavor was rich in bubble gum and banana. My preference is towards a wheat-forward profile but this is acceptable for the style.
Mouthfeel - These is light and fluffy in the cheeks, a very elusive character for American efforts at the style.
Drinkability - One of the few decent American efforts at the style.

Growler poured into a Hefe glass. Thanks to Kyle for sharing!
(A)- Pours a clear yellow color that produced a good fluffy white head with good retention.
(S)- A good lemon wheat profile with hints of bubblegum and banana. Subtle floral spicy notes.
(T)- Similar to the smell with a good lemony wheat and banana; straightforward.
(M)- A good carbonation level and balance. Light and refreshing. A tad thin, but not bothersome.
(D)- Overall, a good Hefeweiss for sure. Lighter, but has the flavors I would expect.

Sun King Big H Hefeweizen is a light golden ale that doesn't connect much in my mind with hefeweiss. No cloves or bananas, in the nose or on my palate. Appearance is golden, yet clear as a mountain stream. It is full of grain flavor. Little head and poor retention. No hops to speak of.

Growler poured at the brewery, consumed about 30 hours later.
This is pretty boiler plate. Nice body--not too creamy, not too firm, just right and in between. Nice whitepepper spice, nice bananas. But there's something about the flavor that just seems a little ersatz. There's no adulterants here, though; it's more like the yeast just doesn't fully jibe up with the wheatmalt. The result is a little candy-like, a little medicinal.
That's not to say that it doesn't taste good, because it does. It's just that this beer's yeastmanship isn't up to Sun Kings usual (very high) standards. With their strongest asset muted, we're left with a solid, boiler plate beer that gets the job done even if it's not exceptional.

grabbed a growler at the brewery a few hours ago.
poured from the growler to a sun king shaped pint glass a hazy sunshine yellow - a 'too careful' pour resulted in a fairly thin white head. (second and third pints were poured more aggressively resulted in a slightly bigger, though still small-ish head.) minimal lace.
pleasant aroma of lemon rind and citrus.
tastes of citrus, marshmallow, spices and a subtle hint of banana. a very rich, hearty brew for the style.
extremely smooth, medium bodied, medium to highly carbonated, certainly more body than other hefes i've sampled - very nice.
ultra drinkable.
