Style: Imperial India Brown Ale
The Notorious IBU is an Imperial India Brown Ale. While not technically a 'real' style of beer, it is our way of blurring stylistic guidelines, creating something new and having fun with at what we do!
Notorious packs a big, rich malt flavor that is complimented by heavy doses of American citrus hops. At 9% it's sure to put the smack down on your ass!

Growler opened by drabmuh at a recent tasting.
Pours a moderately dark brown with a thin off white head and not too much lacing. The nose really layers the hops and malt together quite well. Some earthy, piney hops and a bit of caramel sweetness. The taste doesn't have quite the same profile as the nose, with some sweeter malt and a bit of roast coming through. Slightly dry and bitter in the finish. Drinks quite well and is one of the better brown ales I've had in some time.

poured from the tap at spencer's a deep dark chocolate brown to a sun king pint glass without a head and minimal lace after.
very subtle citrus hops aroma this time around.
big citrus hops forward smacking the palate hard followed with sweet hearty toasty malts.
big bodied, big bitter, medium carbonation, subtle sweet after.
drinkable - i'll call it a day after the one pint this afternoon, but the 9% is much more drinkable than expected.

Growler sent to me by robwestcott, thanks! Poured into a snifter. Its dark brown and clear with decent carbonation and a nice diffuse head that leaves some lacing on the glass. Looks good.
Aroma is nice and hoppy, mild roast, mild sweet, mostly hops.
Beer has a nice light body with a creamy mouthfeel. Its hoppy but not overly bitter, its a decent brown ale for sure. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Beer is quite drinkable. It was a nice treat for a tasting.

Pours a real dark brown/red with a couple of fingers of tan head. Smells are hops, roasted malts and slight coffee. Tastes are hops right ath front, followed by sweet caramel malt and a nice, bitter hop finish. Alcohol is definitely present, but not overbearing. Mouthfeel is medium and drinkability is pretty decent, but I may have trouble drinking the entire growler based on the high abv.
