Batch 222: The Golden Princess is a unique hybrid between a Belgian-Style Tripel and an IPA. Batch 222 starts with aromas of pineapple and ginger but finishes with hints of lemon and grapefruit.

Poured a nice golden color with some excellent head and nice lacing. Nice deep malty aroma, very sweet with some texturing to the scents, but nothing very strong as is typical with tripels (no fruit or spice really came out). Decent flavor, a very nice deep sweet malt, but there was no underlying fruit or spice as is typical with a tripel. Not bad, not great, goes down smooth, and is a good beer, but not the best tripel.

poured cold from a week old growler a near opaque sunlight gold (there's not a ray of light coming through this brew), to a dogfish head 2008 off-centered ales shaped pint glass with a 2 finger white head with quite a bit of retention.

aroma of belgian yeasts, citrus, clove and ripe banana in the wayback.

a toothy belgian with a hoppy bite. very nice. semi-bitter hops up front, followed by a sweet and spicy belgian after. spicy hot cloves and hints of pineapple and citrus. this is a pretty hot beer going down.

smooth, full bodied, creamy, mild bitter to the back of the throat.

drinkable - sure, a 32oz growler's worth. but i have a suspicion that, at 10%, it'll catch up afterward.
