2024 Release
A - Pitch black pour with uber-thin lacing and very low carbonation.
S - Light chocolate char, cinnamon, light Bourbon barrel presence, and a spicy edge.
T - Nice chocolate char malt base with the perfect blend of heat from the cinnamon and pepper spice. The barrel aged nuance hits up front, gets lost in the middle, then re-surfaces on the back side in the residual lingering flavor.
M - Big silky body with definite warming in the back of the throat.
O - I'm really impressed with this one because the balance between the cinnamon and pepper heat is perfect. It's definitely packs some heat, but not at all overbearing in any way at all. Cinnamon has a nasty habit of destroying beers and this is the perfect blend. The barrel aged presence is the icing on the cake. I only bought one of these when I was in Ohio and now wish I bought more.
