***BEST SUN KING BEER IMO as of 5/25/2011***
9 oz serving @ MacNivens in Indianapolis. 2011 ACBW.

Adrian and Clay from Sun King were there to discussed the beer with patrons. When asked if they were going to bottle ("can") Cupcakes Revenge, Adrian said, "ha. hmmm. who knows."

I suggested that, if they do decide to "Can" this awesome beer, that they need to dip the top of the Tallboy in colored wax; maybe put a cork in the can opening and Cage the top around the rim, then dip it in wax.

This Beer is go good, it makes Charlie Sheen look like a droopy-eyed armless child.

Thank you Sun King for not ruining an awesome stout by adding too much cherry. PERFECT Amount. Very subtle.

A: Super blackness. 1/2 finger tan head retained for a few mins. Minimal retention, but right on for style.

S: Smelled like a milky stout without any burnt notes. slight chocolate and cherry.

T: Bourbon Barrel aged stout with slight Chocolate and cherry flavors. Some lactose.

M: Super smooth. well hidden alcohol. The cherry tartness was a 2 on a scale of 10. Perfect. No sharp notes of latent unwanted or delayed piquancy.

O: Best beer Sun King makes. Its in my top 20 beers of all time.

poured cold from the tap at macniven's during ACBW an opaque black with ruby highlights to a 9oz pilsner with a full finger, small bubbled foamy tan head leaving spotty lace after each sip.

great big chocolate aroma with dark cherries and a wee bit of smoke in the wayback.

wow. chocolate cake, as advertised, great big thick, dense dark chocolate cake. dark cherries masking the bourbon, but the bourbon is indeed present. my buddy also detects notes of port, though I don't see it.

medium bodied, super smooth, slick, lightly carbonated, sweet.

drinkable - wow, hard not to just pop a pitcher in front of my stool.

overall - incredible chocolate stout - the wow factor is dam close to vanilla oak aged dark lord. seriously.
