Enjoyed from the can in a snifter via a friend from work---Thanks Justin!
This nice lager pours a clear ruby tinged amber with a moderate head of white foam that subsides to a thin ring, thin layer, and very light lacing. Nose of lightly toasted malts, subtle breaded notes, and light caramel and grain notes. Flavors follow the nose with a decent grain bill in support of lightly toasted malts with a touch of light herbal hops note. Decent mouth feel finishes clean, lightly crisp, and mildly sweet. Overall a decent brew.

I had a friend pick this up for me at Sun King. I poured it from a 16 oz. can into a clear teardrop glass. It pours s nice golden with a pale head. I really like this lager!

On tap into a pint glass

A - The beer is a slightly amber, almost copper color and is clear with light carbonation visible in the form of small bubbles rising slowly towards the surface. There is a thin white head that dissipates very quickly to a thin lacing. 3.75/5

S - The aroma is chiefly of caramel and a very sweet maltiness along with dark stone fruit. The aroma reminds me of Grape Nut O's cereal. Herbal and noble hops seem to be present with a very clean aroma profile overall. 4/5

T - Malty and caramel sweetness pervade throughout the first 2/3 of the flavor profile with medium toasted white bread, Grape Nut O's and caramel being the specific flavors. There is a light smoke and pepper that come out once the sweetness has died down a little along with a bit of rye and coriander. A light grassiness and it accompanying bitterness make themselves known right before the finish with a light lingering bitterness that hangs around briefly before disappearing. 3.75/5

M - Smooth and creamy with a light to medium body. Wet and coats the tongue nicely from front to back with just a light carbonation tickle. 4/5

O - Straightforward and well executed Vienna Lager that has a nice sweetness but it is a bitter more bitter than expected. Moderately complex flavor profile allows those appreciative of the simple to be placated while those who appreciate complexity can be satisfied as well. 3.75/5

Pours a dark Amber brown one finger head. Smells of some grassy and herby hops. Banana and pear. Almost a Brett's yeasty quality to the aromatics. Taste is really clean and invites drinking. Bit of the hops. Bit of Apple. Bit of grapes like a white wine. And then that's it, doesn't linger a ton. It just begs to be drunk. Refreshing mouthfeel/carbonation level. Overall, you'd think a lager marketed to be drunk at a baseball event may skimp on flavor and aromatics. I don't think that is going on here. This is a very good beer. Props again Sun King.

This may seem like nothing special, but for a local AAA team's beer selection, it is far and away the best option. This beer always hits the spot on a nice warm day at Indian's Field.

Looks like a Vienna lager, but taste seems to be directed to the Bud Light crowd. Disappointing for a Sun King offering. I expected something much better.

A - A dark brown, mostly transparent brew, with a small, light head and not much lacing. Looks right.

S - Like many Sun King brews, the nose is quiet, not revealing much. A subtle malty sweetness seems right.

T - Tastes right. A nice, full malty caramel hit, with decent but subtle bittering in the close.

M - Clean and refreshing, as one would hope for a beer themed on a day out at the ballpark.

O - Delicious Vienna with great caramel flavors. Glad I tried this. The cans are a touch pricey for my regular rotation, but on tap at Symphony on the Prairie was a welcome option.

Fairly clean malty lager with a big caramel malt flavor and a hint of fruit esters. I dont pick up any distinct hop flavor, but the beer's well balanced and very drinkable. Lovely summer option.

Another new beer and new can thanks to Trent!

It pours a hazy honey colour with a small head of foam. It shrinks but doesn't leave the scene completely...islands, ring around the glass, nice lacing.

I get some sweet and fruity notes in the smell, some of that fruit being citrus..lemon, orange? Nice.

Bready malt starts things off with some orange and lemon, more of the former than the latter, backing the bread up. There's a certain earthiness going on with this Lager that I really enjoy. And the hops are doing their thing, Noble style. That's always a good way to go.

As good a mouthfeel as I can get in a Vienna Lager.

Man, I dig this. Superb in so many ways. More of this style that is as well made as this, please!

A-Clear as day, light amber, not much carbonation, one finger head.

S-Very malty, caramel, molasses, grass and malt.

T-Nice and malty, sweet, bread, caramel and nice balance.

M-Light to medium bodied, some carbonation.

O-I don't know what it is with Sun King and their lagers, but they are really good. This and the Oktoberfest I was worried about both greatly exceed my expectations.

A dark lager, thin head. Dark golden brown color. Not cloudy at all, very solid. Decent aroma, nothing potent. It is a little lacking in the taste but makes up for it with a solid showing in the mouthfeel department. Not bad, but not great. Pretty drinkable, pretty decent, good local Indianapolis beer to support.

Clear shiny light gold color with oversized head that is ridiculously creamy and drops a surprising amount of lace for a Helles. Clean malt nose with slight toasty and soapy notes. A little fresh hop accent as well.

Flavor is very much the same. Smooth light malt and not too much else. Good balance. I can't find the slightly sweet and deeper malt character I was expecting. It comes off as closer to an all-malt American premium lager than a Helles. Likely there is more domestic malt here than I'm used to in the style. The German character is there; unfortunately it's a detail rather than the focus.

The mouthfeel is excellent -- by far the best aspect of the beer. It's almost medium in body with perfect carbonation. The result is a smooth, hearty satisfying feel. Overall a decent beer, but not one of Sun King's best. I fully intend to buy this many times at "ballpark prices" this summer, but won't be picking up any more $12 four-packs in the near future.

This beer just arrived on shelves today and is brewed for the Indianapolis Indians.

It pours a light bodied clear and bright copper with a soft and creamy two finger bright white head. The nose consists of pale malt, light Munich malt, slightly candied malt and has a general creaminess, ala their Oktoberfest. The flavors are light and fresh, featuring pale malt with lager yeast and a mild bitterness, on point for the style. It's definitely built for outside, and summer especially. It's light in body and easy to drink, both refreshing and flavorful. This is a nice representation of the style. I like it.
