On tap at The Tap
Pours fairly clear dark straw with a small white foam cap receding eventually into legs down the glass.
Aroma features a good mixture of caramel, spice and bourbon.
Flavor is very spicy up front before receding into a sweeter caramel maltiness. Just when it's about done, BAM bourbon. Bourbon mixes wonderfully with the caramel/spice profile and leaves a nice coating on the tongue.
Medium bodied with good carbonation. Bourbon is integrated fantastically. You hardly even notice it's there until it creates a nice warm feeling on the back end.
Superb beer. I can see how this one won awards. The base beer is an excellent example of the style and the bourbon aging on this one was done perfectly. The right amount of spice, malt and booze heat and went down way too fast.
