Pours a pretty clear rich copper-amber color, topped by a thin pale head. The aroma actually has a bit of citrus hop character in it, which I was not expecting. The taste is nicely bitter from start to finish. There is some nice malty notes here as well, though it is a bit hard to pick out. I get notes of caramel, a dry toasty biscuit character in the finish. The hop flavor reminds me of pine needles, and fresh cut herbs more than the citrus that I detected in the nose. Overall a decent example of the style, and I like that this was on the dry side.

Called "Our most popular beer is this American red ale well rounded from its malty palate to its clean lightly hopped finish. Made with pale and roasted malts, bittered and finished with northern and cascade hops. Excellent with spicy foods."
This beer was very clear, with a strong reddish tint. It had more head than most of their other beers, but still not much. It was gone in moments.
Really nice smell, with a strong malt character, reminding me of a good marzen.
Malt dominates the initial flavor. The hops didn't appear immediately. This brew reminded me of a good Mexican amber. But then some of the hop bitterness set in.
The carbonation and mouthfeel were better than most of their other beers. The carbonation was refreshing, the mouthfeel fuller than their hefe and blonde.
Like most of their beers, the drinkability is good. A bit too much bitterness now, at least for my tastes in ambers. But this stuff goes down nicely.

Amber color. Small head. Aroma is nutty and slightly sweet. A medium bodied amber/red ale. Mildly malty. Full flavor. Good malt/hop balance. Mouthfeel is very round and full. Smooth taste. Finish is crisp, slightly hoppy, and slightly bitter. I think this is their most popular beer.
