I enjoyed two cans of this beer while watching The Aquabats perform in House of Blues San Diego during ComicCon. The venue was dark, hot and sweaty and this may very well have been the perfect beer for the occasion. Crisp, clean and light; great hot weather beer. Not overly hoppy or bitter, nice and smooth

Pour is a clean pale straw yellow with a massive soft white head. When people picture 'beer' in the generic... this is the platonic ideal of that picture. Sticky lacing, and while the head settles in quickly, it's lacy and light enough that it retains some pillowy whimsy throughout.

Nose is grainy and grassy with a little sharp tinge on the finish.

Flavour starts off with grainy malts before seguing into ripe fresh cut grass and a dry pale third act that is creamy and sweet and more about impressions than specific flavours. There's a little bit of champagne grape tart/sweet and a hint of spicy to the hops.

Body is creamy but light. Easy drinking, and definitely enjoying it more out of a glass than I had from the can. Moderate carbonation and an after/finish that is creamy and has some noble characteristics, as well as residuals of the grape vines from above.
I don't know a lot about Kolschs. Don't drink many of them, and they're not super high on my list of styles, but I'm enjoying this one, and maybe I should explore the style a bit more this summer, as this is hitting the spot on this hot July morning.

Can from New Seasons

A clear straw yellow with a dense, white head with good retention and lacing this looks solid. The nose is soft with a blend of honey, a little peach and sharp hops, lemony and mildly minty. The palate opens bitter with orange peel, mildly oily hops and with a moderate sugary sweetness. Honey, mildly floral, is present. Drying, mildly watery on the finish with a lingering bitterness, this beer is decent.

16oz can purchased at Bottles in Millwood, WA, for $2.49. First time I've seen it. According to the stamp on the bottom of the can, it is from batch # 292 and was canned on May 26, 2017.

Slightly hazy, golden amber color, with a big, pillowy eggshell white head that dropped after a few minutes and left lots of lace.

Aroma of mild, floral hops and crackery malts.

Like any true Kolsch, this is a low impact beer, with a mild, herbal hoppy kick-off. Cracker-like malts then escort that hop flavor through the remainder of the taste,, ending with a very mild dryness.

Fairly light bodied, with a slightly crisp mouthfeel.

Not a flavor bomb, but that wasn't what was being advertised. This is a great spring or summer beer. The fact that the proceeds go to organizations to defend LGBTQs in and around Seattle from discrimination is a noble bit of community-mindedness on Fremont's part is just the icing on the cake.

Poured into a Sester stange. Pours a light to medium golden amber with a thin white head that dissipates to patches with light lacing. Aroma of grainy and bready malt, a little caramel, light mixed fruit. Flavor is grainy, lightly husky malt, grassy hops, mild apple and pear; finishes with grainy biscuit malt and grassy hops with a very slight sweetness, although the effect is rather dry. Medium bodied with good carbonation. A spot on kolsch with classic grainy malt and Continental tasting hops. The slight sweetness in the finish is a hair off style, but really tasted good to me, softening the husky grain just a little. I really liked this, one of the better kolshes I've had.
