somehow this is the first one of these i have had, i havent seen them around colorado all that much, but if its hoppy and its from fremont, its going to be good, and i was not at all disappointed with this one. its a cool combination of hops, new varietals but of old world origin from what i understand, like noble hops meet the southern hemisphere, its a neat idea to bring them together like this, and at this dosage, the beer drinks like any modern ipa that leans more on dry hopping than bittering. pale straw colored from the tap, nice white head on it, very cloudy but no particulate visible or anything, some thickness despite great carbonation. aroma is fruity in a cool way, kiwi and honeydew and meyer lemon and lemongrass to me, with a limey grassy saaz sort of thing to it as well. lightly candied and sweet too on top of the raw wheaty base, is there lactose in here?! if there is, there shouldnt be, and if there isnt, then where is the sweetness coming from? maybe a product of the hop oiliness, they add a slickness to this for sure, lots of citrus tied up in that, slippery but clean at the end. notes of heady sativa, nerds candy, and sweetened green tea. i really like this mix of hops in a beer like this, but it could use a little bitterness to balance. i think the grist is right on, fluffy and earthy and dry, the sweetness throws me off, but the hops are killer in this context. id love to try some of the others in this series now!

16 oz can- Pours very hazy straw golden with a medium white large bubbly white head that disappears immediately leaving a flat looking beer. Aroma is citrusy, zesty, mango and tangerine. The taste is mango, raw malt, a touch of peppery spice, piney resinous hops, somewhat vegetal. Carbonation is a little light here, body is medium. Not bad, could use a little work honestly.

Received a can of this as an extra in a trade. Canned on 11/15/18.

A - Poured into my Duvel tulip a nice hazy paler golden hue with a very thin white head that faded incredibly quickly to leave light wisps and a thin halo.

S - Aromas of light grassy hops, incredibly subdued on the nose. Hard swirls though bring out a really, really astringent almost vegative aroma that is incredibly unpleasant.

T - Taste is even worse than the nose. Maybe some hop bitterness but this is just a hot mess. Incredibly astringent and vegative. Might be some sweet orange candies in there but the astringent nightmare that is the taste overshadows all that.

M - Mouthfeel is lightly carbonated, body is decent, alcohol hidden.

O - Overall this beer...come on man. You know this should have been dumped right from the tanks down the drain. Why. Why would someone sell this to the public? Enormously disappointed here Fremont.

My least favorite of this series so far, I think Fremont missed the mark on this one.

Tastes like there is a shot of tiquella in a NE IPA. I couldn’t drink it.

I find this beer to be rather juicy. Problem is, your main man finds it a bit astringent too. It’s like Nina Agdal cleaning your windows in a onesie - yeah, I’m feeling it, but the smell from the Windex is kind of overpowering.

Try it!
