Look: semi-clear golden/yellow with a thick white head

Aroma: tropical fruit, citrus, pine

Flavor: The flavor is tropical fruit, citrus, pineapple, maybe coconut in the Cold War one, and there's a grassy/onion/pine and grapefruit rind bitterness at the end.

Body/Overall: They are both dry and crisp, light, and well carbonated. Interesting but not necessarily my favorite style.

12 ounce can (why can't this be the standard serving size?).
Slightly hazy bright golden pour with two fingers of tight bubbly white head.
Aroma is grassy, a bit of pine and a whack of fruity hops - tangerine, pineapple, tropical fruit - a hint of strawberry and a floral note.
Bright sweet pale malt on the palate - floral, berry, pineapple and tropical hops, finishing with a backend citrus peel bitterness.
Brightly carbonated, light side of medium bodied giving a clean crisp mouthfeel making this gulp-able - sweet with an underlying soft bitter kick.

Poured from a 12 ounce can into a tulip glass.

Look- Pale straw, clear, frothy white head, average head retention and lacing.

Smell- Piney, citrus, pineapple.

Taste- Predominately piney, citrus.

Feel- Between thin and medium body, high bitterness, crisp finish, moderately prickly, mildly dry finish, average carbonation.

Overall- Largely piney to the point it is almost a one dimensional flavor with a very light malt backbone.

Look: Nearly clear golden yellow with a lush, pure white head that holds for a bit before slowly receding and leaving awesome lacing behind
Aroma: Peaches, pine, some mango, powdered sugar-coated strawberries, floral notes, lemon-lime, grapefruit, blueberries, and sweet rose – this beer smells amazing
Taste: A barrage of citrus fruits, berries, and peaches start things off with a bang and quickly followed by an array of floral notes and sweet rose – I get some pink jasmine, cherry blossoms, and dawn viburnum. A little tropical fruit and pine mix in with the floral notes before returning to the citrus/berry/peach trio for the close
Mouthfeel: Full, clean, medium-high carbonation, and a clean and slightly soft finish
Overall: This is some delicious stuff here. I’ve been a huge fan of every ‘Cold’ IPA I have tried and respect and enjoy these folks so was excited to try their take on the sub-style and it has exceeded expectations. A phenomenal nose on it and equally awesome in flavor with a ton of breadth with citrus, peach, berries, tropical fruit, pine, and floral hop notes all in play and with that now-recognizable ‘Cold’ IPA feel and finish. Highly recommended

Reading other reviews, like the blind men feeling the elephant. But it does take you on a ride. Aroma of lime and orange with berries in the nose. Tastes of pine and pineapple. Sweet malt yet dry finish. Crisp and bitter.

It's really quite interesting overall, and easy to drink. Something woody in the aftertaste I don't care for, and then it's a little too bitter since the sugar has evaporated. But well worth trying if you like IPAs at all. From the 12 oz can (thank you, Fremont) purchased at Elizabeth Station. Dated 12/12/21.

Light golden and translucent in appearance with a moderate head. Minimal retention on the head.

Subtle aromas of tropical fruits, pine, citrus and some pineapple.

This cold IPA is crisp, clean and packs a flavorful punch. Light fruitiness on the forefront and finishes with a lingering piney bitterness. If this had more of a fruity flavor then I think it would balance out the strong bitterness a bit better. Solid beer overall though, Fremont did a good job on their first cold IPA.

tons of innovation from fremont lately, i love it. cold ipa is really catching on, not quite a lager i guess because still fermented with ale yeast? do i have that right? anyway, its so clean and crisp and good, kind of how we used to think of west coast ipa, but here a little less malty and without a ton of bitterness, nothing really significant about the ferment to me, not sure if there is supposed to be or not, but i really like the brew overall and am glad i picked up a sixer this afternoon. shiny golden brew with some very mild chill haze to it, a high white head with ring lacing on top. it smells solid, orange candy, pineapple candy, and fresh cantaloupe, have to be some cryo hops in here with this pungency and brightness, and then how forward they are and how early they start when i taste it, but i dont know for sure. huge honey blast up front here with the citrus too, zesty and clean at the same time that my lips feel coated with confectioners sugar, this is the new malt, like this is what breweries seem to be doing now, sweetness to highlight the hops but not malt heaviness, i usually want this drier, but i like what it does with the hops, intentional not sloppy, you might not even know unless someone pointed it out, but now i cant unsee it. a little peach, a lot of bubbles, a tony bit of bitterness and maybe just a slight trace metallic at the very end. really solid ipa overall though here, all the new ones from fremont have been. i am a fan of this cold ipa style, i admit it, gimmick or not!

Can from TJs.

A clear light orange with a dense white head with good retention and lacing. The nose is modern, fruity yet bitter, clean with a blend of grapefruit, stone fruit, pine and a little bit of unripe grape. The palate opens bitter, oily, pungent but with a weirdly metallic character that gets bothersome. Smooth and otherwise clean. Drying, bitter, dank on the finish. A mild malt sweetness is present, clashing with the mildly metallic note. The smooth lager-like feel also doesn't work with the dank hop oils. Solid.

Poured from 12oz can into a dimpled mug. Canned 12/16/21. The can calls this a Cold IPA.

Appearance: light yellow-golden hue with a dash of haze and a finger of frothy ivory foam atop. There's some apparent effervescence, too; pretty!

Smell: lightly sweet with a bit of a fruity, tropical note, and some very light dank undertones.

Taste: much like the aroma; a bit on the sweet size, with a fresh and lightly fruity hop character. The composition is nice, though it could be a more fruit-forward and less sweet.

Mouthfeel: medium-rich body with a decent carbonation and creaminess.

Overall: this beer isn't bad, but it is a bit sweet and lacks the crispness that I think of when I think of a Cold IPA.

22oz bottle served in a curved glass. Beer is pale golden, crystal clear, and filled with big soda bubbles. Green, piny aroma. Flavor is on the piny side of a NW IPA, with a pleasant, clean bitterness. Pineapple and resin. The finish is extremely crisp and dry, as you'd expect in an IPL. I do detect a hint of sweetness from the body, but it's very much buried under a healthy dose of C hops. It's a bit fizzy, but the taste is nice, and it's well executed as hoppy lager or "cold" IPA.
