it is so rare that an older one of these is ever better than a newer one, so i felt like i was taking a bit of a risk last night when i ordered a pint of this one a few days after having the version 35, expected it to be getting older and falling off now, even though i do not know how old it is, these have been coming pretty fast so probably not crazy, but i was concerned about it. i didnt love the most recent one, but i was still surprised when this one hit me like it did, wonderfully recipe, hop mix and freshness, a lighter and more refined beer overall, less thick and soupy, better carbonation, and drier. the hops seem more distinctive too, even though its some old horses out front running with it, its a bolder citra profile than we have gotten used to, pure meyer lemon goodness, some lemongrass there, and then the uniqueness of the sorachi ace too, dill and lemon, oily weed, fresh coconut flesh, honeydew melon, its incredible and its bright and its dry. seems wheat based, even a little raw, but its kept more delicate than others of these have been. as this warms i get watermelon, fruity jellybeans, red rose, and white wine, an impressive mix of flavors, and it seems like they have gotten the most out of this hop mix. one of my favorites in recent memory from this series, kind of cool when expectations were at their lowest. up there with the best hoppy beers i have had so far this year, and not just because i love sorachi ace. top notch and still drinking superbly well. if you are worried about that, dont be! i would take this over version 35 a million times over!

Hazy deep gold body; tight white head; good cap retention; bands of lace from first drink to last. Citrus nose with a whiff of skunky. Taste is bitter lemon and semi sweet pineapple; firm malt base - not sweet at all. Medium body, moderate minus carbonation; dusty feel/tongue coating; no hop astringency. Overall, I like; long bitter lemon rind linger; not full or fluffy; a WC take on a hazy; I’d gladly drink again. A Tavour purchase.

This can was a gift from Bob W.

Poured from a 16 ounce can into an IPA glass.

Look- Between pale and medium gold, hazy, visible small and large particulate, very active carbonation, average lacing, above average head retention.

Smell- Melon, guava, clementine.

Taste- Guava, melon, pineapple, clementine, highly astringent.

Feel- Between medium and full body, slightly above average carbonation, very astringent, moderate bitterness.

Overall- Flavor would have been pleasant without the overwhelming astringency.

16oz can of the very familiar iteration; hazy dull gold with some floaties and a soft fluffy off-white head. Familiar hop aromas that are subtle and straight-forward; apricot, tea leaf, lemon, piney-grass, dankness...more of the same on the palate, flash of earthy bitterness with a smooth tropical fruit note, maybe peach. Creamy and fluffy, I've always thought the bodies on these brews were pretty well-executed and attribute it to the oat presence. Solid, if unremarkable.

16 oz. Can
PKG: 12/13/21

Poured into a Tree House glass a pretty nice cloudy pale yellow/orange color, pretty nice carbonation, with a pretty nice thick/creamy one-finger plus off-white head, which also leaves some pretty nice sticky lacing behind. The nose is hoppy, malty, with a pretty nice citrus complex (orange, tangerine, grapefruit, pineapple, guava, peach, papaya, lychee), pretty nice diesel like. The taste is pretty nice hoppy, malty, with a very nice citrus complex (orange, tangerine, grapefruit, pineapple, guava, peach, papaya, lychee), pretty nice diesel like. Medium body, ABV hidden very nicely, with a nice little dry/bitter finish. Overall, this is a pretty tasty beer. Orange Julius! Addictive! MilkShake!

16oz can from Brewers Haven. Hazy straw pour with a thin, tight white cap. Light fruity aroma, citrus, vanilla, lemon curd. Taste is soft, bready, soft hoppiness. Small amount of dryness. Very subtle throughout.

16oz can (dated 12/12/21) poured into 14oz teku. Poured the expected and typical fully murky orange color of the style, with about an inch and a 3rd of white head that had good retention and almost no lacing.

The aroma was also as expected, and typical: Frooty hops with no grain foundation. Same on the tongue, but the some hop bite on the back end.

The body was, again, average for the style; smooth, light, and a medium-sweet finish. Drinkability was was what was expected, no surprises here. Overall, another solidly made, but average, version of the style. If you like 'em, you'll like this one.
