This beer pours a golden light color with a big head that leaves some lacing. Aroma is strong citrus with some tropical notes. Taste is strong lemon with some herbal notes and lemon bitterness. This beer I've had too long dated 1-26-2023. 60 IBUs

Wow! This is a crisp, refreshing, yet hoppy "Cold IPA" and you can sure sense the cryogenically frozen Citra hops which shine through with the lemon zest and "punchy" herbal notes. Very good and most would be surprised to see this packs a 7% ABV punch!
I think the brewery nails this with their description:
"Color: Light straw
Aroma: Citrus with specific grapefruit notes, also strawberry, peach, pine aromas and cereal
Flavor: Slightly sweet, mild bitterness and mild lingering bitterness in light body with moderate carbonation"
I'd buy this again, BUT I didn't like it when it wasn't very cold...it seems to benefit from being chilled and then enjoy it as it warms up. :)

Here's another selection from the Fremont tap takeover last summer before I went up to Lake Tahoe for the Alabama show.
The cold ipa is an ipl it would seem, but maybe I'm overthinking it in the land of durrrr. This one looks pretty. Has good clarity, golden hue, 2/5" white head. This is sexy, and I don't mean that "for its age" lie you omit when talking to middle aged losers on dating apps. The aroma smacks of proprietary hops, Citra, Strata, pushing orange, weed, strawberry cough strain, tangerine, passion fruit, but they aren't quadruple dry hopped or anything, its there, but not big.
Those show up more in the taste with the addition of Centennial there to push some grapefruit and pine both in terms of taste and bitterness. Mouth feel is phenomenal, just such a light airy, but with grain mouth feel, crisp taken to the nth degree. Overall its a really good beer and I hope to find a six pack of it after enjoying this selection on draft.

Canned Feb 9, '23. Pour is clear very light amber / yellow with a frothy head. Light aroma of fruit along with a yeasty, but pleasant 'beer-y' note. Taste is moderately dry, hoppy but not dominated by bitterness. It's a good cross between lager and ale that Fremont has worked out better than most. Very drinkable and should be a good match to most foods.

12oz can
Pours a finger of white head into my can-style glass. Retention is actually quite nice considering the starting size, after a few minutes there is still a solid half finger of head. Lacing is wonderful. Body is yellow, clear but not crystal, with a healthy amount of bubbles coming up. Looks great.
Nose has faint notes of melon, fresh cut grass, some pine. This is very light when compared to other cold IPA’s, but it smells very clean and extremely refreshing. It’s not jumping out at me, but it’s endearing enough.
Flavor is pretty light as well, very faint melon, definitely some grass, has a very small dankness in the finish. Ok.
Carbonation is medium-high. Body is medium. Bitterness is relatively low. Not sweet at all, though I wouldn’t call this dry, nice balance. Overall a solid mouthfeel, body is slightly bigger than one would expect but that’s fine.
Drinkability is very nice.
Overall this is fine, certainly a crushable beer but the flavor doesn’t come through as elegant and refreshing as the nose, possibly some of the body getting in the way of things. The result is more of a modest West Coast IPA, than it is a light, bursting with hop flavor cold IPA. All things considered it’s still pretty good.

12oz can pkgd 07/19/22. Extremely pale, brilliant gold color, with very good clarity, and a nice thick foam. Aroma is a bit citrusy but also carries some tasty lagery notes. The flavor has a biscuity body and a crisp finish, with a yeasty flavor which is unmistakably lager. Like a good German lager, even. Except the hops are more of a low-alpha West coast IPA (if there can be such a thing).
I'm really impressed with how this can simultaneously be a beer that showcases lager flavors while also being a legit IPA.
fremontbrewing.com says 60 IBUs, which might be higher than I'd expect, but then again it is 7%. I just don't get a very specific hop flavor, it's more of a muddled citrus with something vaguely pineapple than any specific fruit, juice, or pine flavor.

Mostly clear liquid. Light gold color. Minimal medium-fine head and minimal lacing.
Light grain scent. Slightly metallic. Slightly bitter. Kinda lightweight.
The taste has grain somewhere between rice and wheat. After not a whole lot for the nose, there is light citrus and freshly cut grass. I might even call it vegetative, although not a salad. Overall, the bitterness is moderate.
The aftertaste is surprisingly heavy, sticking around for a long time. It has moss and grass, and the moderate bitterness just won't let go. The overall weight is moderate-heavy for the type, and alcohol is easily detectable. Carbonation is moderate-coarse and prickly.

Clear amber brew with plenty of foam in the New Belgium snifter. This still has that fruity flavor I associate with "Cold IPA." It's a berry sort of taste. Here we have a lick of fresh apricot complete with green skins and astringency. But each sip it's sweet peach with a sharp finish. Call it complex! Citrus aftertaste with moderate bitterness. Quite a robust flavor with increasing bitterness as you sip, but quite drinkable. From the 12 oz can purchased at Elizabeth Station. Dated 06/22/22.

12oz can pours crystal-clear pale straw with a soft white head. Smooth, clean aromas of malt breadiness and grassy hops, minor impressions of fruity, floral, dank hops. Smooth, clean, and fairly crisp on the mouthfeel. Easy drinking.
