a collaboration with tarantula hill, who i know nothing whatsoever about. not that hazy, and a little weird, but modern and interesting, cool art, canned in the middle of april, so maybe fading just a little, but neat beer anyway, always fun to have fremont stuff, they do everything well. this is golden and maybe just unfiltered looking, very little actual haze to it, but it does hold nearly an inch of airy white head the whole time it takes me to drink this pint, so nice head retention and overall liveliness. the nose is a little bit catty, could be waning hops, hints of candied orange peel and yellow florals here too, a little bit of nail polish or something higher toned and almost chemical to me, more intense as it warms, lemongrass and subtle yeast character too, juicy, a touch sweet but simple on the grain side, low bitterness, lightly coppery. the flavor is similar, with canned mandarin and a hint of pineapple up front, a little honey grain thing to me in the middle, and more zesty citrus and even passion fruit later, some residual hop oiliness but overall an incredibly light body, especially for something calling itself hazy, no real oaty character despite them being in the mash here, not starchy, cleaner than many, and easy drinking as a result, but also i do kind of miss a longer smoother drink with this hop profile. a bit of a battery aspect on the last few sips, low bitterness the whole time. not quite what i was expecting here and certainly not one i would rank among their most compelling, but still an enjoyable kind of summery brew that almost hits like a strong pale ale, some light alcohol in play toward the end. fremont has been so good for so long with hoppy beers that i expect greatness every time, and this is a bit short of the extremely high standard they have set in my opinion...

Citrusy and lightly tropical hop aroma and flavor with light black tea and piney notes. Good balance with light bitterness. Medium to light bodied with a solid hop finish.

Smells like gum dipped in syrup but it’s actually not too sweet.
