Transcribed from my beer diary entry from that day:

Enjoyed at MBC on April 19, 2014. This was a tasting room only deal, I believe they just did one barrel worth. This is the original Mean Old Tom, aged in whiskey barrels (or, probably just one). This is sweeter than the original MOT. Same oily dark pour with one finger of quickly disappearing head. Sweet whiskey and malt in the front. Vanilla and a more refined boozey bourbon taste on the back end. Similar body (thick) as the other dark Maine beer brews. Carbonation was a touch low, but not out of line with the style.

Where I get a touch if smokiness in the original MOT, this one had that nice boozey bite instead. Vanilla flavors pop in this one. Overall this was a bit too sweet for my taste.
