Do you like a hoppy ending? A tantalizing blend of German Perle and US Pacific Northwest hops give Pawnee Pale a moderate, citrus, hop quality. American, British, and caramel malts provide a rich maltiness not found in most pale ales. At 6% ABV and 42 IBU’s, Pawnee Pale is distinctly hopped, yet still carries that session beer quality you have come to expect from Mustang.

Pours an orange copper with a finger of white foam that recedes to spotty bubbles after a few minutes.

Mildly hoppy with a floral and citrus flair barely outpacing the caramel and pale malt backbone, which softens the supposed 42 IBUs giving a smooth bitterness. Cascade seems to be the biggest player in this beer and it really reminds me of a significantly less aggressive and slightly sweeter version of a Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. Finish is clean.

A decent, drinkable Pale Ale that goes down easy, but it doesn't offer much that makes me want to come back for a second.

Pale amber color, good head that is creamy white and has good retention.

Aroma of grapefruit hops and a sweet caramel malt.

Big malt flavor, great hops. More IPA lke than APA like in flavor. Hoppy but not intensely bitter. Finishes with an earthy hop bitterness.

Medium body and carbonation. A bit of warming, which again makes it feel like an IPA.

Overall a nice, big malty/hoppy beer. Too big for an APA, but rich and tasty.

Pours a clear golden/amber with a thin off-white head. Smells of some light pine. Taste is some ripe apricot up front, followed by a spicy sourdough middle, and a bit of grapefruit in the finish. Mouthfeel is good, average carbonation. Overall a good pale ale. A bit strong in ABV, but still quite drinkable.

Poured into a pint glass.

It's a hazy gold color, white head that quickly disappears.

It smells grassy and a bit malty.

There are a lot of grassy hops. It's got a good bit of malt. A bit of citrus hops as well.

It's rather light bodied with ok carbonation.

It was the best beer from these guys. It's an acceptable beer but not a good one.

Pours an effervescent amber with a finger of cream colored head. Decent lacing & average head retention

S: Grainy notes & grassy hops. Some leafy hops show up once warm

T: Follows the nose, some biscuitty malt & a tinge of sulphury hops, then more dominant herbal hops up front. Grainy, more herbal hops, some caramel sweetness & slight apricot fruittyness. Finishes grainy, slightly bitter, slight apricot fruittyness

MF: Medium bodied, firm carbonation. nicely balanced

Drinks easy, an alright APA & probably the best beer from these guys. Would love to see production move to Oklahoma

This beer enjoyed on tap at the Abner pub in Norman, OK.

Pours a clear golden amber color with a finger of off white foamy head with good retention and plenty of lacing. The aroma has hints of citrusy and grassy hops, as well as some malty sweetness. The taste starts with some malt and then becomes strong with grapefruit and finishes with some caramel. The mouthfeel is very smooth and not overcarbed at all. Overall a decent pale.
