Better than your average Japanese beer.

Bought a bottle from the Tobu department store in Ikebukuro, Tokyo. Poured into a US pint glass. Really cool vintage label. Best-by date clearly printed on the front label. This English pale ale is a revival of a beer recipe from 1887 when Japan's craft beer market boasted between 150-200 different breweries. It is a bitter pale ale with a bit of caramel malt and toffee flavors, close to something like an American amber. I thought it was a really tasty brew, as are all of Ishikawa's. I would highly recommend this with some kind of bitter food like goya if you are in Japan.
