Note: Not clear from the lable - or perhaps it is but only in Japanese. This is bottle-conditioned. Pour in one go to suitable glass, or prepare for some sludge on pouring the remainder of the bottle.
L - Rich golden honey, pours with thin white head that clears quickly [likely due to using a fresh machine-washed hotel glass].
S - Prominent toasty grains, nice.
T - Quite a deep but refreshing flavour. Toastiness is prominent, 5.5% carries that well too. Finishes with quite intense flavour somewhere off towards molasses sugar.
F - It's quite 'puddingy' flavour-wise for 5.5%, yet still hoppy enough to be refreshing on the palate. It'd be a great winter warmer.
O - This is really nice. It packs flavour and feel into 5.5%, but blind-tasted I'd have guessed this at say 7%. I don't find any rough edges on this at all. It is a fine and accomplished beer that I'd be very happy to buy again.
Bought on offer, reduced from S$8.50 > S$7.50 a 330ml/bottle, rather expensive, but worth it for a treat of a Japanese beer.
BB: May-2019. Heavy glass 330ml bottle, bought from Cold Storage supermarket in Singapore.
