Great story behind this one... the local beer community got together to pick the harvest before the hurrican struck. I wondered if the early harvest might have produces some green, grassy flavours, but thankfully this one is full of citrus & spice!

A: Copper-bronze with a light haze, light tan head, some retention, good lacing.

S: Grapefruit, tangerine, nectarine, garden fresh peppers and some toffee from the malt.

T: Plenty of hop flavour (grapefruit, fresh pepper, nectarine, grass), some nice dark toffee and an assertive bitterness. It's sort of an IPA and a half like the Garrison Imperial, with the wet hop flavour of a Sierra Nevada Harvest.

M: Well-attenuated, moderate body has plenty of hop acidity and a crisp, very drying finish.

D: Like hops?

A - very hazy, amber, small off-white head, leaves a small amount of lacing

S - fresh candied citrus, floral, not a lot of pine

T - delicious malt/hop combo up front, very floral, light grass, perfume, bitterness is very firm, really pushing the limits, lingers forever

M - very creamy mouthfeel, low carbonation, dry resinous finish

D - very agressive wet hop beer, malt barely balances it out, but still quite good.

In my experience, locally grown wet hops taste a lot different than the commercial grown varieties. These ones are almost totally lacking in grapefruit, but are really floral and perfumey. The taste is unlike any wet hop beer I've tasted, and certainly unlike your typical double IPA. The resiny bitterness is really pushing the limits of what I consider balanced, but it still isn't rough like some of the double IPAs I have tasted. Letting it warm up a bit seemed to bring out a little more malt sweetness to restore that balance.

Hand bottled by Nash, the brewer. Pours yellow with significant white head, that later leaves a lace trail. Aroma initially malty and faint hops, hops more prominent later after first sips. Very drinkable, soft mouthfeel. Well balanced despite 75 plus IBU. Much Cascade, not a melange of hops. Very fresh.
