a smoked baltic porter
a: served in a tall flute-like glass, pitch black in color with an overflowing mocha head, nice retention and lace
s: intriguing smoky aromas over a body of black malts and dark chocolate, licorice and molasses, prune and other dark fruit, big range of dark malts but without much of a roasted edge as appropriate to the style
m: carbonation light and smooth, medium-full body
t: lots of smoothly roasted and black malts form the structure, black licorice and dark fruits compliment, nudges of coffee in the finish, smoke seems to be isolated to the nose as I don't find much here, modest hop finish
d: really like this porter, drinkability high for the style
