This is listed as a Pils on the menu of the brewery, but I've got to say that to me it seems much more like a Helles. It's a little cloudy, looks unfiltered, and I don't really get any of the Pilsner style hoppiness that would be expected. Also it has that sort of biscuity flavor that I appreciate from a Helles. The first couple sips had a bit of an alcoholic taste though, which was slightly offputting, and pretty much the only thing that keeps this from being a 4+ beer.

€4,60/,4L vom fass at the brewery on 17 September 2021
Notes: Mostly clear golden body beneath an average-sized head of dense white foam that holds quite well and leaves thick rings of lace with each sip. The aroma suggests grainy malt with herbal and spicy background hops. The flavor is malty sweet with apple and hoppy notes of herbs, spice, delicate grass, and a suggestion of lemon. A stiff bitterness runs through it, anchoring it and leading to a short lingering, spicy finish. In the mouth it’s medium bodied and crisp with a seemingly natural, fine-bubbled carbonation.

I sampled this fine Pils on tap at the brewpub in Frankfurt. The beer was a slightly cloudy, golden color with thick, white foam. The smell was good (malt and hops). The taste was well balanced and not overly hopped. Very clean and crisp and easy to drink. Very good drinkability, and I returned several times to have more.
