Deep brewed. Cold matured for over a month for a deeper flavour. The refreshment of old style lagers but with greater depth of flavour and aroma, in keeping with the English Ale tradition. We use special lager malts and 5 different hops, added at intervals during the boil, together with a small quantity of natural herb extracts. We then ferment and mature for over a month during which the flavour deepens, and carbonation naturally develops. We do not pasteurise.

330 ml bottle at the Flying Horse, Gatwick Airport. ABV is 4.5%. Golden colour, large white head. Aroma of flowers, toffee, honey, hay and dust. Surprisingly malty flavour, again with hints of honey and toffee, and a sharpish hoppy bite in the finish.

Piss yellow. White frothy head.
Cereal nose, maybe some hop but not much else.
Standard euro lager flavour with a bit more hop and green taste. Slight astringent finish.
Well carbonated.
OK for a hot day.

L: Poured a clear gold with no visible carbonation. A half-finger of white head reduces to a cap leaving some lacing.
S: Malt, honey, orange, caramel.
T: Overt orange blossom with a sweet, caramel finish.
F: Light to medium body with a sharp, dry finish. Faint carbonation.
O: I found the orange nose and flavours overpowering and disconcerting. Very floral for a lager. Not clean or crisp and no grains. Weird.

330ml bottled with the following on the label- 'Hogstar New English Lager, cold matured for 28 days for a deeper flavour'. Pours a clear golden colour with a lasting white head which leaves rings of lacing down the glass. Aromas of sweet malt and a floral fruit. Tastes is both moderately sweet & bitter with sweet malt, hops including orange, caramel & honey. Body is medium, carbonation is on the soft side. This is a very pleasant lager to drink.
