Appearance: Golden and clear with a frothy bright white head that does leave decent lacing as it thins out.

Aroma: Citrus hops in the front, lemon zest, grassy, biscuity, butter notes. There is a light dryness in nose.

Taste: From the start it has a dryness but the citrus notes show up. Lemon, grassy, buttery, biscuit.

Notes: Well it's not bad decent for a run of the mill lager. Cheers.

Bottle. Also labelled as "The Great British Brewing Co".
Golden. Frothy head - lasts well then dissipates on supping.
Noble hops with malt. Some honey.
Hay and light citrus. Balancing malt with a bitter finish.
Quite soft.
Not too bad for a supermarket lager.

Pours clear light amber into a tulip from a bottle. Lively carbonation generates a 3 finger sparse offwhite head that recedes into froth quite quickly.

The aroma is sweet, citrusy and creamy. There's mild lemon, biscuit malt, and some hop presence. The flavour follows on from the aroma with sweet syrupy lemon cheesecake flavours, that creaminess coming through like in the nose, as well as a definate honey like maltiness. The hop presence comes through more in the flavour than in the aroma with a slight aromatic character and a mild bitterness on the finish. This is a nice tasting lager.

In the mouth it feels light-medium bodied with a slick oily smoothness to it from the hops, as well as creaminess from the malt. The carbonation gives it a zing that compliments the flavours but it doesn't overstay its welcome.

I was pleasantly surprised by this Aldi lager, it has a very nice fruity and malty balance to it with just the right amount of mild bitterness and creaminess. Considering it was brewed for Aldi, you definately get your money's worth.
